A note for GNU\/Linux users<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

PDF Booklet<\/em> is developed originally in Windows and for Windows. Nevertheless the code is 100% GNU\/Linux compatible. It runs in Python 2.7 <\/em>or 3.4<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The .deb package<\/a> (Debian <\/em>\/ Ubuntu<\/em>) should work out of the box.<\/a> In case it does not, we are providing other solutions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Install from source<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Decompress the file : Install by unzipping \u2013 linux.zip <\/em>in a directory where you have full write rights. Run pdfbooklet.py<\/code> with the following command:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

~$ python pdfbooklet.py<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n
or<\/p>\n\n\n\n
~$ python3 pdfbooklet.py<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n
If the dependencies are satisfied, you should see the program running. If not, either install the missing packages. If you know how to do that, or use the second solution :<\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. Install the pyinstaller bundle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
To solve the dependencies problem, we have built a bundle with pyinstaller<\/em>, which contains everything needed : Python3<\/em>, Gtk3<\/em>, Poppler<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Unzip the big file: pdfbooklet 3.x.x pyinstaller.zip<\/em>, in a directory where you have full write rights.Run the file pdfbooklet<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n
~$ .\/pdfbooklet<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n
3. Install from tarball<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
We offer also the tarballs in 32 <\/em>and 64 bits <\/em>if you know how to install them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Technical information<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
The needed dependencies for python3 are python3-gi<\/em>, python3-gi-cairo<\/em>, gir1.2-gtk-3.0<\/em>, gir1.2-poppler-0.18<\/em>. To install them on a .deb<\/em> system just run:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
~$ sudo apt install python3-gi python3-gi-cairo gir1.2-gtk-3.0 gir1.2-poppler-0.18<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n
